Understanding
pathogenic processes and the development of successful strategies in
combating
infection requires access to comprehensive information accumulated in
the literature describing pathogenic pathways and related components.
Integrated with genomic data, bioinformatics tools and experimental
information can facilitate scientific insight into mechanisms of
pathogenesis and
assist in experimental planning.
Information regarding the
components of pathogenic pathways and their relationships comes from
vast data
sources. The accumulation and analysis of this information will allow
researchers to explore genomic and experimental data in the framework
of pathogenic pathways and perform reconstructions of the pathogenic
pathways from the sequence data. The current lack of such a resource
can hinder the ability and efficiency to analyze genomic data and build
comprehensive computational models of pathogenic processes based on the
experimental results. We are developing a comprehensive database of pathogenic pathways and related components based on information extracted from the literature. Pathways have been
constructed for the following processes: |
